Required for IRB Review:

1. GCU IRB will no longer accept paper (word) IRB applications. The GCU IRB Online IRB Application Form is located in IRBNet (www.irbnet.org): Follow the detailed instructions in the Step-by-step guide for submitting an online IRB application.
   • All applications fall under specific codes and guidelines. You may find important information pertaining to which category to select by going to DC Network > Research/Dissertation tab > IRB > 4. IRB Policy and Procedures or by clicking here Review Procedures and log into the DC to be directed.
2. Completion of the online application form is the first step in seeking the institution approval that is required for all educational and research projects at Grand Canyon University.
3. Answer all questions on the application form in its entirety. Once the online application is complete, the application will load automatically in the IRB project. All other required IRB documentation will need to be uploaded separately. Please include all applicable IRB materials per IRBNet Document Checklist prior to submission.
   • For Doctoral Learners, please ensure only the chair reviews, signs and submits your application.
4. The Institutional Review Board (IRB) will process your application, coordinate review, and notify the committee of the IRB determination.

Please Note: Research activity may not begin until you receive official notification of APPROVAL from the IRB Office. Submissions to the IRB Office that are incomplete will be returned and will not be forwarded for IRB Review.
